Hollywood Is Cooked single cover by Alexander Kiesel

Debut Single

Hollywood Is Cooked

My first release as a recording artist. It started as a joke that wouldn't leave me alone: if the film industry is being rebuilt by machines, the soundtrack might as well be too. So I produced the whole thing with AI and kept the title from the essay that started this whole line of thinking.

Three minutes, one idea, released in 2026 under my own name. There's more on the way.

The story

Why a filmmaker made a song.

I spend most of my time at Periti Studios making trailers and short films, a lot of it with AI in the pipeline. The music came out of the same curiosity. I wanted to find out where the tools fall down when you ask them to carry a feeling for three and a half minutes instead of a single shot.

The title is borrowed on purpose. I'd already written Hollywood Is Cooked about how cheap iteration is quietly rewriting who gets to make things at scale. The song is that argument in a different medium, and it's a little less serious about itself.

If you want the long version of how I think about AI as a production tool, the write-up on the blog covers how this one came together.
